AGARIC L -  Produce spores on the underside of their caps from gills, whereas Boletes, that can be similar in look, produce spores from sponge-like tubes

EXPLANATION FOR COMMON TOADSTOOL AND FUNGI NAME

Lyophyllum decastes [Fried Chicken Mushroom] : Don't even ask because I haven't a clue what this has to do with fried chicken. Must have been trying the                                                                                             magic mushrooms when they named this

Lactarius rufous : Rufous means red. The camera doesn't do brick red or maybe it was forest lighting. Bit iffy on lilac as well for that matter

Lepiota cristata [Stinking Dapperling] : A Dapperling means dwarf - makes sense as many lepiota are quite large
